We wait at the bus stop for the bus. We wait at the store in line. We wait for class to start, and for the bell to ring. We wait for our favorite shows to start a new season, and for movies to be released. Google says "human beings spend approximately six months of their lives waiting in line for things." Advent is a time of expectant waiting, and meant to be a season of preparing our hearts for the coming of the Savior of the world. We spend a lot of time preparing for Christmas, yet the old clichès about keeping Christ at the center of Christmas, and Jesus being the real reason for the season, don't often phase us from our preparations. The birth of Christ was the miracle of life combined with the miracle of eternal life, all in one moment. What if this Advent really was about Christ, about not just waiting for the birth, but waiting for a new miracle in our lives this Christmas. What if your Christmas wish was a new way for God to use you this year or a new way to serve Christ? As we wait for Christmas, let's wait in prayer, asking Jesus for a daily miracle to reveal himself to the world. Realize that you may be someone's miracle today. I guess we'll just wait and see.
