Through your donations we are able to keep our church vision alive. Besides the operating expense, your donation helps us to be able to make our mission statement come alive to "Love, Grow, Serve and Share." It is what makes a difference in our children, youth, adults, mission projects and everything in between that means so much to us.
St. John’s is pleased to announce a convenient way to make your regular offerings. With our electronic giving program, you can easily set up a recurring giving schedule or make one-time contributions. We encourage you to set up a schedule of recurring contributions. It’s convenient for you and provides much needed consistency for our church. If you are currently giving on a weekly basis, you will no longer need to write out 52 checks a year or prepare 52 envelopes. Even when travel, illness or other circumstances prevent you from attending services, our church will continue to receive your contributions on an uninterrupted basis.
If you have any questions, please contact our Finance Manager, at 941-925-2661.
A Great Way to Invest in the Future of St. John's
A Qualified Charitable Distribution ("QCD") is a tax efficient way to make charitable contributions. A QCD is a direct transfer from your IRA to a charity (e.g., St. John's UMC). It is only available to IRA owners and IRA beneficiaries who are age 70 ½ or older. The amount contributed counts toward any Required Minimum Distribution ("RMD") and will be excluded from your income, creating an "effective" tax deduction that is in addition to your standard deduction. Your IRA custodian is an excellent resource to explain and create a QCD.
If you have planned on recognizing St. John’s in your charitable legacy through your will or other planned gift, please let us know. We will make sure your wishes are carried out. If you would like more information about estate planning, please contact Pastor Jaime at 941.925.2661, Kent Anderson at 941.923.2771 or by using the below form.
